On Mar 4, 2019, John Colgan of the Dataw Historic Foundation presented highlights of the original development of Dataw Island by Alcoa. In the 1980’s, Alcoa South Carolina, a subsidiary of Aluminum Company of America (Alcoa), bought and began developing our residential planned community on Dataw Island. The driving visionary and force behind this effort was William F. Cochrane. John’s presentation covered the period from 1982 to 2007.
